Trailer maintenance has its own set of unique challenges. Trailers are the most important part of the combination vehicle, as they are what carry the load, but not all trailers are created equal due to the wide variety of vocations which they are assigned.
Some trailers are constantly on the highway hauling long-distance loads. Others spend an amazing amount of time sitting idle, which presents its own special maintenance challenges. A one-size-fits-all-approach simply doesn’t work.
During this session, our S.7 Trailers, Bodies & Material Handling Study Group will host a special “Shop Talk” style interactive discussion on the latest trailer-related issues facing fleet managers. We’ll cover a wide-range of topics such as disc vs. drum brakes and their maintenance; brake dust shields (pros and cons), wheel end maintenance and inspection guidelines, and much more including whatever topic you want to discuss.
This promises to be an open roundtable discussion of the pitfalls associated with ignoring proper trailer maintenance and specification.
