
TMCSuperTech is the premier national skills competition for commercial vehicle technicians, organized by the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC). Now in its 21st year, the event brings together top professional and student technicians (TMCFutureTech) from across the industry to assess their skill level and expand their knowledge of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining todayโs commercial vehicles.
How it Works
๐ Step 1 โ Sign Up to Compete
Whether you're a seasoned professional (truck-tractor and/or trailer) or an up-and-coming student technician, this is your chance to elevate your skills on a national stage. Register by August 14, 2026, to compete in this yearโs event. Verified 2026 state champions receive free entry.
๐ Step 2 โ Arrive in Pittsburgh
Check in at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center starting Saturday, September 19, and attend orientation on Sunday, September 20 at 6:30 am to meet your fellow competitors and learn what to expect.
๐ง Step 3 โ Compete in the TMCSuperTech Hands-On Skills Challenges
All professional technicians compete in a full day of hands-on challenges on Sunday, September 20. Meals are provided, and spectators are welcome on the floor.
โ Step 4 โ Take the TMCSuperTech Written Test
All attendees will take a written test on Monday, September 21, from 7:30 - 8:30 am.
๐ Step 5 โ Attend Training & Awards Day
Attend the TEC Technician Training Fair on Monday, September 21, which qualifies for continuing education credits by the ASE Education Foundation, followed by the TMCSuperTech Awards Banquet. Top performers are announced at the banquet for each skills station, and the Grand Champion is crowned, taking home the top prize, including an expense-paid trip for two to the 2027 Daytona 500.
